Baked Pears

Today's breakfast! I have been making baked pears almost every morning lately, as they are super simple and delicious. And they only take 30 minutes. :) I would say that half a pear is a good serving for 1 person, coupled with toast or something else breakfast-y. These pears also great as a healthy snack or dessert. This recipe is from Bldg 25 .

Ingredients:
-1 baked pear (or more, if serving a few people)
-cinnamon (to taste)
-salt (optional) (to taste)
-agave (optional) (to taste)

1.) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Then wash your pear (or pears) well and set them on a cutting board. Cut each pear in half. You can remove the stem if you'd like.

2.) Take a spoon or melon-baller and scoop out a small, circular indent in the pear (make sure to get all the seeds out!). If you like to have more walnuts in your pear like me (it tastes more like pie that way!), you can carve out a larger indent.

3.) Next, fill up each indent with walnuts. I like to crush my walnuts into smaller chunks as I do this, but you can keep them whole if you'd like.

4.) Time for toppings! Lightly dash the cinnamon and salt over your pears until it looks good to you. Then, if you'd like, drizzle some agave over the pears as well. (In this picture, the one on the left doesn't have agave while the one on the right does.)

5.) Put the pears on a baking pan and bake for 30 minutes.

6.) Take the pears out of the oven and let cool for at least 5 minutes (because they will be HOT!)

7.) Serve and enjoy!
